AN INTERVIEW WITH A HOT NEW ARTIST!
Hello everyone! Welcome to today’s show where I bring you an interview with a close friend and hot new artist, Elgin of ElginTeeVee fame (www.youtube.com/elginteevee). He is 18 years old, very intelligent, beautiful, and is very sure of his dream. He would like to have the fame he has always dreamed about. Please get to know this soon to be iconic young man.
1. When did you first discover you could sing? Do you remember the first time you have sang for anyone else other than yourself? How did that feel having an audience for the first time?
I first discovered I could sing when I was little. I used to sing to all the songs on the radio and I remember my Grandmother and Mother telling me I had a “nice little voice” (ha ha). As far as the first time singing for someone, I’d have to say in like Kindergarten. I remember singing for my school Christmas play and it felt amazing once I was singing.
2. Where are you in your life right now as far as career pathways and dreams go? What are you working towards doing in your life currently?
Currently, I cannot say too far. I am in the process of looking into producers to do a demo CD and all, as well as always keeping an eye open for showcases. As far as having a foot in the door of the industry, not yet. Hopefully very soon if things go as planned.
3. The passing of Micheal Jackson has affected you dearly. If you could have spoken to Micheal moments before he passed, what would you have said to him?
Funny you say this. Week before he died i was in Los Angeles and I heard we just missed him. I always told myself if were to meet him I would of just told him what an amazing performer he was and how much I saw somethings in him as I do myself as well. I would also ask what advice he could give to a pursuing artist like me. He seemed to like such an intelligent man musically. I would have wanted to know everything.
4. Do you have a top 5 artists list? If so please list them. If not, list the ones you listen to most in no specific order.
1. Janet Jackson
2. Michael Jackson
3. Britney Spears (Her past few albums have been great efforts I believe)
4. Sade
5. Lauryn Hill
5. Which artists do you think should never have gotten a record deal?
I don’t know. If I were to go off artist I don’t care for musically there would be a lot of them.
6. What separates you from the rest of the young rnb up n coming males like BRANDON HINES or any other YOUTUBER out there?
Wow, Idk I never really thought about it. I personally don’t know who Brandon Hines is so I couldn’t say how I can separate myself from him but I think it would have to be my styling? Also I tend to lean more toward pop a little more heavily than a lot of the RnB crooners I have seen on youtube.
7. Are you really ready for a life of fame and fortune if it were to happen?
I’d like to think I am. I’ve wanted it all my life. With anything nothing is easy, there will always be someone who doesn’t like you, and you can lose it all in a minute but I feel the rewards far outweigh the possible negatives. I’m always up for a challenge, and I’d just be happy making a living off doing something I love.
8.Do you have any mixtapes you are working on? Will you make a free downloadable one on your myspace or facebook like BryNt did?
See I have not heard of any of these people. (Haha). No, I am not working on a mixtape, but as I previously said I am currently talking to people who make music. If things go to plan I’ll be able to make a demo cd, and maybe a mixtape too.
9.When you get into a mood where you want to sing sing sing, what artist immediately comes to mind?
I suppose Janet Jackson. I am a major fan of her music.

How does this quote make you feel? Do you believe in its truth?
I do believe in it. For some it doesn’t matter what they do, but if they came across negatively from the get go some people just cannot forget it. Why one must always stay humble and be kind.
11. What current events in the world have you taken an interest in and why?
At the moment, definitely this whole issue of healthcare in America. I cannot see what harm could be done in giving people healthcare who need it.
12. What childhood experiences can you most remember affecting you negatively and are you still dealing with the pain?
In my life, I truly can say nothing extremely traumatic has happened and I am blessed for that. I suppose my biggest downfall would have to be a bittersweet blessing. I was a military brat as some would say, so I would have to move around a lot. I constantly had to switch schools make new friends that whole ordeal. Even though I was able to travel the world and live in places people only could dream of going, like Italy and Hawaii, I was never able to have that stability many children had. Never was able to experience what it was like to have a “childhood friend.” As far as shaping me, it made me able to adapt to change easily, and made me grow in communication skills and learn how to make new friends.
13. What character trait is your worst? Which fault of yours is hard to admit to, but you know its true?
I tend to have this care-free personality. Sometimes things that should be taken very seriously isn’t always to me as others may see it be. So that could probably be a problem. Also I know I can tend to be a tad too talkative at times hahaha.
14. If you were god and you could change 5 things about the world you hath created, what those things be and why?
1. Hate
2. Bigotry
3. Depression
4. Poverty
5. Disease
